FALL is here and with it,
the time honored high school tradition- Homecoming!
This year’s Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, October 21st
at the Del Mar Marriott. For
Moms and Dads, this is a time to exercise the “trust but verify”
approach to parenting to help us host another safe dance: You can
and should trust your teens, but you must still ask questions to
verify their plans for the night.
Here are some pointers for parent to reduce – and hopefully
eliminate – alcohol/drug use and bad decision making:

Subject: CCA Students win Mathematics
Competition!
Congratulations to CCA Mathematics students for their 3rd-place
finish in the 2011 Fall Startup Event, a national mathematics
contest administered by National Assessment & Testing
(http://www.natassessment.com) in Seattle, WA. Students were
coached by CCA Mathematics teacher Brian Shay!
Click here to read the full Press
Release!
Coach Brian Shay prepared students for the
first major
competition of the academic year, in which students worked
furiously for thirty minutes, racing to answer one hundred problems
in a
variety of mathematical topics. With so many questions and
so little time,
competitors must not only have strong
mathematical skills, but also be able
to quickly decide which
problems to solve and which to skip.
After results from
students across the nation were processed, several Canyon
Crest
Academy students received individual awards, helping their team to
place 3rd in the nation.
