About Oak Crest

Oak Crest Middle School, part of the San Dieguito Union High School District, was dedicated in 1957. In the summer of 2000, Oak Crest underwent a 7.5 million dollar renovation of its infrastructure and updated all school facilities and grounds.

Oak Crest Middle School, located in Encinitas, California serves a projected enrollment of 1015 7th and 8th grade students. Oak Crest prides itself on having a highly educated and qualified teaching staff that cares not only about student�s academic excellence but equally about student connection and character development. Our school is recognized district wide for having a friendly, caring, nurturing teaching staff who love working with this age group. We have fun at Oak Crest with our students, as witnessed by the teacher participation in our student versus staff competitions at lunch and by the number of teachers who volunteer to help chaperone dances and other extracurricular activities. Oak Crest also integrates technology through a variety of elective from CE-SMART (Career Exploration of Science and Math Applications to Research and Technology), computers, to our very own TV broadcast every Friday called the �Wave Live� which features student activities, school information, and community updates.
