SDUHSD High School Selection Lottery Update

SDUHSD conducted a High School Selection Lottery on Thursday, February 25.  The lottery was a random, equal chance drawing for all four grade levels at Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) and San Dieguito Academy (SDA).  This year, we had more applications than space available at grades 9 and 10 at SDA, and at grade 9 at CCA.  At SDA, ninety-five 9^th graders and twenty-one 10^th graders will be wait listed.  At CCA, one hundred 9^th graders will be wait listed.  All other SDA and CCA applicants will be accepted right away.

Letters will be sent on March 5, 2010 and parents will be notified of their student’s 2010-11 high school placement or Wait List status along with instructions on how to register and select courses.

Please do not contact the school sites for any High School Selection information.  If and when space becomes available at SDA in grades 9 and 10 or at CCA in grade 9, you will be notified.  No wait list students will be admitted to either SDA or CCA prior to June 1, 2010.  Wait list notification may come as late as August 30, 2010.  If space becomes available, students will be enrolled in their numeric wait list order.  No new students will be added to the wait list.  Depending on staffing and capacity constraints, there is a chance some or all the wait list students will not be accepted to SDA or CCA.

Students who did not participate in the 2010 High School Selection process prior to the February 8, 2010 deadline are not eligible to attend either San Dieguito Academy or Canyon Crest Academy.  New students must enroll at their boundary school, which would be either La Costa Canyon High School (LCC) or Torrey Pines High School (TPHS).
