CHOICES Night
This year Torrey Pines will host Choices Night on Monday, February 27th. Events will start at 6:15 with our Jazz Band performing in the quad. There will be a general session in the gym, followed by break-out presentations around campus. Check back soon for the complete schedule. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a Falcon, and what makes Torrey Pines such an amazing school.
Dollars for Scholars -- Scholarship applications are available February 3rd and are due by March 1st. For more information about Dollars for Scholars, visit tphsdfs.org or download the application here.
Important Parking & Drop-off/Pick-up Information:
Staff parking lots are reserved for staff, coaches and officials at all times including after school, weekends and holidays.
Students should park in the student parking lots at all times including after school, weekends and holidays.
Parents and spectators may park in the student lots or the visitor spaces. There is no parent or spectator parking in the staff lots near the stadium.
Parents can drop-off/pick-up students in the turnaround on the west side of school (behind the administration wing). There should be no drop-off/pick-up in the staff lot adjacent to the stadium entrance.
Parking in the stadium or on/near any field is not allowed.

If you aren't familiar with it, Twitter is a social media appication that automatically notifies "followers" every time the Twitter web page is updated. Twitter will allow us to send out important information quickly and easily even in the event of an emergency. Although you can follow the Twitter feed (also known as "tweets") on the Twitter web page, it is even more convenient if you have the Twitter application on your cell phone. If you would like to follow our updates, all you need to do is set up a Twitter account. It's quick, it's easy and it's free! The only thing you need to start an account is an e-mail address. API Rises Again to an Impressive 881!
Congratulations to the students and staff at Torrey Pines High School for their efforts this past spring on the California Standards Tests, upon which the Academic Performance Index (API) is based. Our schoolwide API increased from 871 to 881, up an impressive 10 points. Torrey Pines High School continues to be a top-performing school in the county with this score. Additional highlights include stunning subgroup growth in the following areas:
Asian subgroup = +6 point
Hispanic/Latino subgroup = +59 points
White subgroup = +4 points
Socioeconomically Disadvantaged subgroup = +51 points
English Learners subgroup = +104 points
Students with Disabilities subgroup = +65 points
I know
of no other school in the county with this type of subgroup growth performance.

Friends of the Library is now running an important fundraiser. TPHS planners/agendas are available at the library circulation desk for $10. The agenda includes the school calendar, bell schedules, online passwords and much more.
